As we push for comradery and togetherness we are starting a unifying event known as the Grove Games. Triathlons, Saving Babies, and Speedos

May 26, 2013 Josh Armentano General 0 Comments

About a decade ago I participated in a triathlon and solemnly bound myself to never involve myself in such an endeavor again, till death does me in. Well that promise will be broken soon. Josh Howeth, Matt Munger and I will be participating in a triathlon on June 15th in Albany, in order to support Options: Pregnancy Resource Centers in Corvallis and Albany Oregon. I will lead off on the swim (I hope I can float), Matt will surge ahead on the bike (Matt you better learn how to draft another rider) and Josh will bring us home on the run (you better dive over the finish line buddy).

Our goal is to raise $500 for this event. You can give to our team here (choose Stephen Brucker—though the picture is of Josh and Liz) Fundraising Page.

To spice things up, if we raise $500 one of our team members will wear a Speedo (maybe there should be a vote). There is your incentive—public shame and embarrassment, or the opportunity to support an organization which literally saves unborn children’s lives.

Wish us luck. One way or the other we will finish. Cheating isn’t off the table yet. Though I’m not sure how you cheat in a triathlon (maybe I could tie a rope on another swimmer’s legs, or put an invisible motor on Matt’s bike?). Reply if you have thoughts. Reply if you have tips. Or just reply and give to an amazing organization.

They will be setting up a table outside the OSU Valley Library with free coffee, Hank the English Bulldog, and other things to help give students a break from the stress. The goal of this outreach is simple: to spread a little joy and put a smile on your face.
